Déjà Blue Video Clip Shoot - 1999

In August 1999 Stephenie made her first video clip for CMT. Déjà Blue, the title track and first single off her album, was produced at Channel TEN Studios in Coffs Harbour N.S.W. Directed by Adam Dennison, the clip took two full days taping and about a week in post production. Stephenie is delighted with the result and is keen to do a second in the not too distant future. The "dream sequences" in the clip were shot in and around Coffs Harbour and were a lot of fun also. Steph had to find a young fella to play her "love interest" in the video and ended up selecting Matt Fidler, who just happened to be the younger brother of Australian swimming champion, Chris Fidler. Matt's role in the video saw him elevated to super star status at his university in Lismore . . . and they haven't even seen the video yet!! Anyway, here's some shots I collected in the digital whilst hangin' round in the background during the shoot . . . .
Tony
The guy on the far right is Steph's "boyfriend for hire" in the clip, Matt Fidler, and the guy in both photos is Steph's drummer in the band she has put together, Tony Hurley.

Some of the crew taking "time-outs". That's Adam Dennison, the Director, with the coffee mug and his assistant Michael and the cameraman, Chris Dunkin. All are from Channel TEN in Coffs Harbour, the location for the majority of taping.

Shania?
Shania?
No, that's Steph!

Closet Stephenie Fan!
Number 1 Fan!
Proud Parents.
Number "6" is Steve's son Tom who is a "Metallica" Fan, but he is also a closet Stephenie Fan -- but don't tell his mates at Uni!! The good looking bloke in the middle is Steph's Number 1 Fan and that's Mum and Dad Grant looking on during the shoot.

Cool microphone!
Cordless too!!
I won't tell if you don't!
The microphone was a source of entertainment towards the end of the shoot when we realised there was no cord hanging out of it; so we decided it was a "wireless" microphone. And if you look really closely, you can see the little antenna sticking out of the bottom (of the mic).

Production Manager - Channel TEN
Ross Jamieson from Channel TEN in Coffs Harbour had this to say about the video clip, "We are proud to be associated with Stephenie and this production and we are quite excited about her obvious talent and her future in the music industry."

The whole crew.
A quick check of the day's taping.
The crew at Channel TEN in Coffs Harbour were really great to work with, and were supportive of Stephenie from the very beginning. I don't think Steph would go anywhere else for her next clip. Stephenie, and we her fans, thank you all at Channel TEN for your patience and professionalism.
And good luck with that Golden Guitar Adam!
