CONFIGURING MICROSOFT OUTLOOK EXPRESS

There are a few details that need to be entered before you can start using Outlook Express to send and recieve emails.

Note: You do not need to be connected to the Internet in order to configure Outlook Express

Creating a new Outlook Express Account

Once you have Outlook Express Open, click onto the TOOLS menu, and then down onto ACCOUNTS.

A window similar to the following will appear, called 'Internet Accounts'. Click onto the MAIL tab at the top of this window.



Click onto the ADD button in the top-right-hand corner, and then onto MAIL from the smal menu that appears. This will start the wizard to create a new Outlook Express account for you.
1. Your Name



Type in your name as you want it to appear beside your outgoing emails.

Click Next to continue
2. Internet Email Address



Type in your email address as shown on your Nornet registration letter.

Click Next to continue
3. Email Server Names



Type in the following details

 Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: mail.nor.com.au
 Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.nor.com.au

Click Next to continue
4. Internet Mail Logon



Ensure there is a DOT in 'Log on using'. Enter the following details

 POP account name: Type in your username exactly as it appears on your Nornet registration letter
 Password: Type in your password exactly as it appears on your Nornet registration letter

Click Next to continue
5. Friendly Name



Under the 'Internet mail account name', type in 'Nornet Email'.

Click Next to continue
6. Choose Connection Type



Place a DOT into 'Connect using my phone line'.

Click Next to continue
7. Dial-Up Connection



Place a DOT into 'Use an existing dial-up connection.
In the box below, you should see your Nornet dial-up networking connection. Click once on Nornet to highlight it.

Click Next to continue
8. Congratulations



All done.


Click Finish to return to the Internet Accounts box.

You have now setup Outlook Express to send and recieve emails through Nornet. Click onto the CLOSE button to return to Outlook Express.
These are all the preferences you need to setup Microsoft Outlook Express.
