Include the number of co-ordinate digits adopted in rectangular co-ordinate systems. ATTRIBUTE DETAILS – Primary or key attribute fields (tags) and their descriptions within each theme. Include descriptions of additional (multiple) attributes and indicate whether these fields are held in a relational database or reside in an attribute table/file within the internal GIS structure. EXPORT FORMATS – The exchange formats in which the custodian’s GIS can export the data in. For example, DXF, GenaMap, ArcInfo, MapInfo. DATA LIMITATIONS – Confidence limits, minimum recommended scale at which the data should be interpreted. CONTACT DETAILS – The name, position, address, and telephone, facsimile and E-Mail numbers of the contact person responsible for the data set. The contact should be able to answer technical and supply questions about the data set. DATE OF ISSUE – The date the information sheet was issued. Spatial Data Set Information Sheet SAMPLE SAMPLE SAMPLE SAMPLE SAMPLE SAMPLE SAMPLE SAMPLE SAMPLE SAMPLE The following items are each to be addressed when providing Geographic Information System (GIS) spatial data or data sets to a third party user. DATA SET NAME – A short name which reflects the content of the data set provided. Coastal Wetlands (State Environmental Planning Policy No.14) CUSTODIAN – The name and address of the owner or trustee of the data or data set held. Department of Urban Affairs and Planning GPO Box 3927 , Sydney NSW 2001 ABSTRACT – A description or summary of the data content. For example, origin, purpose, number of data points for discrete data point sets, whether integrated with other data sets, capture scale, availability, and accuracy. Boundary data on over 1300 coastal wetlands of State significance and covered by State Environmental Planning Policy No.14. (SEPP 14 places planning and development controls under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979 over these areas.) Based on interpretation of 1:25 000 aerial photographs, taken in 1981 and 1986 by the Land Information Centre (LIC), with limited ground truthing, and transferred manually onto LIC 1:25 000 topographic maps and hand digitised. SPATIAL DESCRIPTION – The spatial extents of the data set, referring to common geographic place names or recognised mapping regions. Coverage extends along the NSW coastline and up to 30 km. inland, but exclusive of the strip between the Hawkesbury River and Wollongong. The spatial extent of this data set as held in the Grafton Office covers the North Coast Region from the Queensland border (Tweed Council) to Laurieton (Hastings Council), in 1:25 000 series topographic sheets. DATA SET CURRENCY – Brief description of the timeliness of the data set. Include the date (month and year) the data set was produced, if there are any planned updates or amendments to the data, and update frequency. Current. Wetland boundary amendments occur approximately every 12 months. The last amendment (No.11) was gazetted on 22.12.95. DATA FORM – The form the data is held in. For example, vector data (point/line/polygon), raster data, combined vector/raster, network data, spatial database, relational database, text database, text file, spreadsheet file. Vectorised digital data with polygons forming the wetland areas. PROJECTION – Projection system used to capture/digitise or collect the data (eg. latitude/longitude, Universal Transverse Mercator). Include the number of co-ordinate digits adopted in rectangular co-ordinate systems. Universal Transverse Mercator with AMG easting coordinates in 6 digits and AMG northing coordinates in 7 digits. ATTRIBUTE DETAILS – Primary or key attribute fields (tags) and their descriptions within each theme. Include descriptions of additional (multiple) attributes and indicate whether these fields are held in a relational database or reside in an attribute table/file within the internal GIS structure. Primary attributes (tags): Coastal wetlands number plus ‘wet’ suffix; eg. 483 wet N.T. (not tagged, ie. non-wetland areas) Additional attributes: Nil EXPORT FORMATS – The exchange formats in which the custodian’s GIS can export the data in. For example, DXF, GenaMap, ArcInfo, MapInfo. GenaMap, DXF, DGN, IGES Rev 3.0 ASCII, MOSS, SIF ASCII. DATA LIMITATIONS – Confidence limits, minimum recommended scale at which the data should be interpreted. The data is a digital representation of the boundaries shown on the hard copy maps incorporated in the SEPP 14 policy document. These maps remain the definitive source of these boundaries. The positional accuracy of hard copy and screen plots of the data becomes less reliable at scales larger than 1:25 000 (eg. at 1:10 000). Use of the data at a larger scale is not generally recommended. During digitising of the wetland boundaries, the following anomalies were encountered on the hard copy policy maps: the boundaries of some wetlands that cross the common border of adjacent maps have not been edge matched. Consequently there may be offsets between the two parts of a wetland or in some cases one part of a wetland may not appear. the wetland identifier is not shown for a small number of wetlands. These anomalies are currently under review and will be corrected in future updates. CONTACT DETAILS – The name, position, address, and telephone, facsimile and E-Mail numbers of the contact person responsible for the data set. The contact should be able to answer technical and supply questions about the data set.
