Beware of supermarkets!
I've just come home from doing the grocery-shopping at my local
supermarket. And guess what? Yep, it was "Preggies and Babies Day". Was there a
general announcement made to all Melbourne citizens and I missed it? I counted there must
have been 35 customers in the store, 28 of them were pg women and/or babies. I expertly
manouvered the trolley (since I was unencumbered by screaming kids) and avoided the baby
food aisle only to arrive at the check-outs where every single person waiting in the
queues was a Preggie and/or with a baby. I waited for a while before I thought it was safe
to join a queue, only to be squeezed in by a preggie & baby right behind me!
So, what will I do from now on if I need groceries? Well, it's easy. I will avoid
shopping at supermarkets altogether. If I need anything, I will ask my DH to pick it up on
his way home from work. And, I will make a point of eating out every night. The one
positive thing that will come out of this decision? I will enjoy not cooking and washing
up every night! Wish me luck...
