The Australian Infertility group was established from the existing members of the Oz Infertility group. ( OIG) started By G Phillips & A Ozscot, while Anne & Flippy take a well earned  break. 
Australian Infertility Support Group  ( AISG) formed in August 1998.
The original purposes aspirations & goals have been maintained.
This group exists to support our feelings and experiences as infertile people .  It enables us to share knowledge, resources, and acts as a forum enabling us to cope with this phenomenon.
This group includes people who are experiencing Primary or Secondary infertility and some who are thinking alternatives like  adoption, fostering,  surragacy, use of donor embryos,  donor sperm, those who have succeeded and those who have made the difficult choice to live child free.
We include couples who have experienced the myriad of ART options open to them. These couples can offer, if asked, insight and understanding to members who are mid journey or who are just beginning their journey.
There are others who have been successful and who are here to give hope & inspiration.
This group is a voluntary run non profit organisation, it is not associated with any clinics, specialists, national organisations or  other support groups.
Why Join?
Everybody has different reasons for joining a support group. 
The purpose of this group is to help you realise that much of what we feel is normal.   It is to give hope, a shoulder, an brains trust, a place to spit and fume if that's what you need.  There are no judges here.
All posts are exclusive to the group you can send or respond to posts,  privately to members with whom you form a special relationship or you may post or respond to the group. It is also about helping you to understand what it is you are experiencing, it is also a forum for new

techniques as some clinics are faster to adopt new techniques than others.
The group allows and encourages ideas exchange including natural therapies, coping techniques, feeling of success , failure, isolation depression, frustration, confusion, fear, loss of control, or the decision to move on.  Its all OK, rest assured we have all been where you are today.   We forge real caring loving non-judgmental relationships which are vital traversing this road.
Unfortunately for many of us we have family & friends who have no idea of what we are experiencing.  Its not because they don't care they mostly just don't know what to say or how to say it, we also help you to help them.
CHAT GROUP with ICQ
We engage in ICQ chats where we have open forum on issues affecting us today, or we discuss specific topics to help us all understand different aspects of infertility that we have no intimate knowledge of so that we can better understand our fellow members,  we also discuss new techniques, drugs, treatment protocols, herbal & natural therapies.   Inform each other of seminars, meeting etc of interest etc.
Members are encouraged to join the ICQ network and engage in our Sunday informal night chats and our week night topical chats .

You can choose to use your own name, a pseudonym or whatever  you choose, reveal your location or not, reveal your clinic or not its up  to you.
We have a set of guidelines which indicate the acceptable conduct within the group.  No posts are permitted to be copied, transmitted or published in sny forming whole or in part without the authors express permission. Failure to comply my jeopardise your membership.
Donations 
As with all things there this group incurs running costs , some members choose to make donations towards these costs.  Please note that whilst these donations are very welcome &  much appreciated they are not tax deductable as we are not a registered charity.
